MUZZAMIL ABDI SHEIKH

Research Consultant - Somalia

Muzzamil is a Somali researcher and Fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar in Austria. He holds an MA in International Studies from the University of Nairobi and focuses his research on the Horn of Africa, particularly Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. He has contributed to ODI's SPARC project on Anticipatory Action and explored the nexus of climate, conflict, and hunger.

His work spans research on forcibly displaced persons, aid diversion, peace and conflict transformation, governance, and community security in newly liberated areas in Somalia. He has conducted context analyses in Somalia, the Cabo Delgado region of Mozambique, and the Somali region of Ethiopia.

Muzzamil has collaborated with organizations such as the World Bank, IOM, DT Global, ODI, and Saferworld. He is an associate with GIST Research and ImpactLoop, serves on the advisory council for Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS), and is the Executive Director of Baar Research.
