Project
Consultancy for Pre-intervention study on Digital for Education (D4E) for Wezesha Binti Intervention
Client
Enabel (Belgium Development Agency)
Duration
October 2024 - January 2025
Enabel’s Digital for Education (D4E) initiative in Tanzania aims to improve digital competencies among lower secondary teachers in the Kigoma region, addressing significant digital skill gaps and infrastructure limitations. The programme places a particular focus on overcoming barriers that female students face in accessing digital resources, aiming to create a more inclusive digital learning environment.

Through a mixed-methods research study, combining quantitative surveys and classroom observations with qualitative interviews, ImpactLoop aims to assess enabling factors and areas for improvement at the start of the D4E pilot. Key aspects of this research study include measuring teachers’ digital competencies using the DigCompEdu framework, assessing available digital infrastructure, and gauging education officials’ preparedness to support the programme. Findings from this study will guide targeted training and development under the Wezesha Binti programme, empowering both teachers and female students with essential digital skills.
